Benefits
SPU students benefit from our small class sizes, which provides students with personalized mentorship in their chosen educational pursuits or career paths and many opportunities to create innovative projects under their guidance. SPU’s unique interdisciplinary engineering senior design capstone course sequence mimics a high-tech incubator requiring students to work in interdisciplinary, diverse teams while developing professional skills necessary for success in the real world.
Seattle Pacific University is in a cosmopolitan city surrounded by natural beauty with world-class attractions, major sports teams, coffee shops on nearly every corner, and thriving arts and cultural scene. Named a “Best Place to Live in the U.S.” by U.S. News and World Report — Seattle Pacific University embodies the best of the city with a beautiful campus in the historic Queen Anne district.
Did you know that engineering and computer science majors engage in a year-long design sequence of courses that prepare our graduates to seamlessly transition to industry work? Electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and computer engineers work in teams to produce projects and gain experience collaborating with engineers from other disciplines — a unique and valued aspect of our programs. Alumni often tell us that the workplace is just like their SPU senior design course sequence!
Major companies with Seattle campuses, such as Amazon, Microsoft, Cray Inc., Blue Origin, Boeing, Zillow, Google, SpaceX, and others located around the nation like Tesla, Apple, and Oracle hire Seattle Pacific University students launching successful careers and developing industry leaders.
